Relationships Between the Different Sides and Countries
The war sides and countries had many ties of relationships between them. Russia, Britain, and France were Triple Entente. Italy, Austria-Hungary and Germany were Triple Alliance. Serbia was called the Balkans. Italy and Austria had an alliance from 1882 and Germany also had an alliance with Italy from 1882. Germany had another alliance and it was with Austria-Hungary since 1879. Germany held another alliance, and with the Ottoman Empire, since 1914. Britain was also tied in a treaty with France dating back to 1904. France has shared an alliance with Russia, which started from 1894. Serbia aided Austria-Hungary, Russia, and as well as the Ottoman Empire, which means Serbia aided both sides. There were a lot of ties of relationships in this war, both sides had aid, treaties, and alliances, which would have stirred confusion, especially after so quickly, so many nations were involved in this war.
