The Impact of WW1 on Canada
People still argue to this day if The Great War helped make Canada more into a country or not. Politicians and people often say that we would not like to think that the war made Canada more into a country. There are many different opinions shared constantly. Prime Minister Stephen Harper once hypothetically asked "In order to become a nation, there first has to be a human bloodbath?" "Did Canadian soldiers go into battle with the conviction that they were making Canada into a nation?" Though, there were many achievements for Canadian soldiers on the battlefield. It also did give Canadian soldiers and Canada a sense of national pride, like Canada could stand on its own. In conclusion, it didn't help make Canada more of a nation much, but it brought Canadians closer together and made Canadians more confident as a nation.
