Canada's Contribution
Statistics show greatly how much Canada has contributed to the war. During the war, almost 61 000 Canadians died. More accurately, 60 661 Canadians were killed and 172 000 Canadians were wounded, which counts up to about 37% of men and women who served either wounded or dead. There were eight million people in Canada and 630 000 served. Overall, many Canadians served and many lives were lost, but they were not lost in vain.

Canadian soldiers fought in many battles and helped in many different
ways. Canadian infantrymen fought on West Front on January 1915, and the
March Battle at Neuve Chapelle. On April to August in 1916, the
Canadian Corps fought in the battle of Ypres then moved to the battle of
Somme. After that, on April 9, the Canadian infantrymen helped capture
Vimy Ridge. Next, in 1917, November the 6th, the Canadian infantrymen
took the invulnerable quest of Passchendaele along with allies. In March
1918, cavalry and machine guns helped when the Germans started their
last big offensive. When the events looked up, Canadians contributed by
doing amazing in aerial combat. The naval volunteers were little and the
newly formed navy consisted only of two cruisers. Therefore, Canadians
have helped greatly and many different ways as well: from land to water,
from battle to battle, Canadian soldiers made a big contribution.
